It’s A New Day!

Well, here I am, finally writing my blog! I have been wanting to create a blog site for a long time. Oh, I have created other avenues of internet expression. I have three pages on Face Book: one is my personal page, one is the Hearts Of Fire Project and one is for my music. I also have a web sites for the Hearts Of Fire Project as well as Bob Ballard Music. I also have a couple of Twitter accounts. At one time, I had a blog spot blog, but didn’t find it to be as powerful as Word Press and I was dismayed to find that blog spot is now part of the Google empire. As you will see, I am not a fan of big corporations so I shop small business whenever I can. I also created a pages for the Hearts Of Fire Project on networking sites like Squido and Ning, but they are no defunct, or at least I think they are, I didn’t pay them.

The point of all this is that I want to consolidate all of these on-line activities in one place. I want to create one, comprehensive presence where I can be myself and share my thoughts, my creations, my passions and my life. I am not sure I like the clunkyness of Work Press, like I can’t select fonts except the stupid header fonts. Formatting has always been the issue for me with Word Press. Inserting photos, video and audio in the place I want them has been difficult. But maybe it is just me. I will recommit to learning this interface better.

Finally, a few words about the name of this site, HeartOfHumanity.net. All of this probably belongs in the About Us page, which I haven’t done yet. A few years ago, I was talking to a friend about my true motivation. If I looked deep into myself, back through the years to child hood, what has been the consistent place that I come from, the place that truly live within myself. I realized that my heart has always been the part of me that I am most motivated by, the part that expresses most of who I am. I noticed that my heart has always been connected to others, easily feeling and sharing the emotions of others. Compassion and empathy describe who I feel I am. These deep feelings have always been with me. Although I have not always acted on them, the connection with others is through my heart. Thus, I decided to call this site the Heart Of Humanity.
